About the Island

Welcome to Thulusdhoo

Thulusdhoo is a name spoken reverently among surfers worldwide. This small island in North Malé Atoll is home to the famous "Coca-Cola" break — one of the best right-hand reef waves in the Indian Ocean, named after the soft-drinks factory that once stood on shore.

The wave delivers long, powerful walls suitable for intermediate to advanced surfers, with a shallow inside section that rewards precision. The surf season runs from March to October when the southwest swells pulse through, but the island draws visitors year-round for its crystal-clear water and relaxed atmosphere.

Beyond surfing, Thulusdhoo is a genuinely charming island community. The local Coca-Cola bottling plant (still operational) is a curiosity, and the island's backstreets are lined with colourful homes, small mosques, and the workshops of traditional boat builders maintaining the art of dhoni craftsmanship.
